Back To School Hair Care

The summer is over and it’s time to get back to the real world. Whether you are returning to school, college, university or work, getting back into the swing of things can be a bit difficult. I am about to go back to university for my final year so it is the perfect time to start thinking about some easy hairstyles and hair care hacks that I can use to look presentable with minimal effort. Creating a hair care routine is easy and involves maintaining the health of your hair and applying beneficial products to your hair. Here are some things you can include in your back to life hair routine!

Refresher Sprays

We have all hit snooze on our alarm clock one to many times and woken up much later than anticipated. If your anything like me, you probably also neglected to prepare your hair from the night before so you look like a bushy dry mess. Refresher sprays are the answer. These are sprays that help you to refresh, detangle and define your curls and honestly they are so simple, quick and effective. There are tonnes of different types of DIY sprays. Simply take a spray bottle and fill it with some water and a few squirts of your favourite conditioner. This moisturised your hair and makes it alot easier to detangle and style. You can also take it with you if you are running really late to do your hair on the go. Here are some other refresher spray recipes you can try.

Easy Hairstyles

When it comes to the end of the summer, you might want to come back with a bang and switching up your hairstyles can be the answer. Whether you like to opt for long term protective styling like braids, twist or faux locs or regular daily styling, having a few quick looks to hand can be really helpful. Check out my blogs on how to do your hair for work or school. Below are some links to some super easy and quick hairstyles.

Headscarves

I love wearing a head scarf and it can be a beautiful eye catching way to protect your hair. Headscarves can be extremely versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways. If you have left your hair in a bun for the last few days, or if you cant seem to get a slick and smooth bun without lumps you can simply whip out a headscarf. I particularly like these when I am deep conditioning my hair as it allows the deep conditioner to soak into my hair without being visible to the outside world. Here is my tutorial on how to easily wrap a headscarf for beginners.

Night Time Hair Care

How you wear your hair at night can have a big impact on how it looks in the morning. While I admit that I sometimes neglect to look after mine at night, try and be better than me. Your night time routine can have long term damaging affects that are worse than just messy hair in the morning. You can cause your hair to dry out, increase breakage and even split ends. It takes a little extra time and a little extra effort but it really goes a long way. It can even save you time in the morning with your hair routine if you style it appropriately the night before. Sleeping on satin pillowcases, wearing a bonnet and protective styling can go a long way to not only keep your hair healthy, but also make it alot more manageable in the morning.
