Mothers Day Ideas

Treat your mum this mothers day during lockdown.
Who remembers that Drake song, "I only love my bed and my mama I'm sorry!" Well, that is definitely true for me. My mum is one of my best friends and definitely deserves a day dedicated to her. If you haven't thought of a present you can give your mum as yet and you're realising it's too late to book anywhere or anything, I am here to save the day!

Here are some ideas for the perfect 'hair spa' themed mothers day that are super easy and affordable to spoil your yummy mummy!
1
Breakfast

Start the day right by bringing your mum a delicious breakfast in bed. Whip up your mum's favourite breakfast dish, get a pretty tray and a flower in a vase to spice it up and ta-da breakfast in bed. If you don't know what to make your mum or you're a terrible cook try any of these recipes.

2
Scalp Massage
It is time to let the pampering begin. If your mum loves scalp massages as much as mine does, then she will love this oil scalp massage. While your mum is eating its time to whip out the oil and heat it up so it's nice and warm. Pour this oil into a squeeze sauce bottle or any bottle you feel will work best and apply it sparingly to your mum's scalp so it doesn't pour onto her face. Then let the scalp massage begin. Watch the video below to learn some new scalp massage techniques.
3
DIY Time

If you have a creative mum, she might like to make a DIY hair mask. If you aren't good at DIY treatments, you can buy a heat cap conditioning treatment for each of you to wear whilst watching a movie. This is also a great time to do a DIY face mask. If hair masks aren't up your mums avenue, maybe you could try our deep conditioning hair treatment. Check out the videos below for other DIY concoctions you can give a go for Mother's Day.

4
Steaming
If you already have a steamer its a great time to whip it out and steam your mother's hair for her.
Otherwise, you could do it your self following the steps below:

  1. Soak a towel in water and wring it out so that the water is not dripping.
  2. Place the towel in the microwave for 2 minutes or until very warm.
  3. Wrap the warm towel around head.
  4. Cover towel wrapped head with a shower cap or plastic bag big enough to hold steam.
4
Gifts

Hair products for curly hair can be expensive so to get some for Mothers Day can be a dream come true. If you know what products your mum likes and what brand she currently uses maybe try and get her more from that brand. If someone buys the Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie every month they will probably like a product gift set of the range. Even if they don't love every product, we all like to try new things and find different products that work for our hair.
